New Zodiac dates unveiled

What astrological sign are you? Well, scratch everything you ever learned about your Zodiac sign because it’s all changing.

Astronomers with the Minnesota Planetarium Society found that a shift in the Moon’s pull on the Earth pushed the stars’ alignment by a month, creating another astrological sign.

“When [astrologers] say that the sun is in Pisces, it’s really not in Pisces,” Parke Kunkle, a member of the group’s board, told Time.

Zodiac signs: Wrong from the beginning

The MPS goes on to say that Astrology has been an imperfect science since the beginning. Apparently, Ancient Babylonians had 13 constellations. However, they only “wanted” 12, so they threw out the snake holder, Ophuchicus.

What does this mean? You might not actually be a Libra, Aquarus or whatever horoscopes led you to believe.

The MPS says these are the real signs we should follow from now on:

  • Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16
  • Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11
  • Pisces: March 11-April 18
  • Aries: April 18-May 13
  • Taurus: May 13-June 21
  • Gemini: June 21-July 20
  • Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10
  • Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16
  • Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30
  • Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23
  • Scorpio: Nov. 23-29
  • Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17
  • Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20

Luckily, we’re still a Taurus so we don’t have to change our horoscope-reading habits. What about you?

Has your star sign changed with the introduction of Ophiuchus?
